Dance For Success does not have a studio and all classes are taught at public schools and community centers, free of charge to the Title-1 schools and the students.

OUR DURING SCHOOL PROGRAM:

During the 2009 - 2010 school year, Dance For Success taught more than 800 students in 14 schools (12 of which were Title 1) 20 dance lessons each. Bringing the total number of children taught by Dance For Success in Orange County to over 2,300 since the program started in 2007.

All courses are adaptable to school initiatives and schedules. For the courses held during school hours, our only requirement is that everyone in the entire grade level participate unless there are religious or medical reasons that prohibit them from dancing.

Each course consists of 20 dance lessons for each class within the grade level participating at the school. For example, all fifth graders participate during the same 10 week period. At the end of the course, all children perform in a showcase, in which they dance for their teachers, family and friends. Dance For Success provides the M.C. for the event, certificates for each child and neck ties for the gentlemen. All the dance instructors are there to support the kids as they perform.

During the 2009 - 2010 school year Dance for Success taught at Tangelo Park, Richmond Heights, Hungerford Elementary, Meadowwoods Elementary, Rock Lake, Lancaster, Orlo Vista, Saddler, Hiawassee Elementary, West Oaks, Saddler, Westridge Middle, Robinswood Middle, NorthStar High School and University High School. We are so proud of all our graduates!

OUR AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS:

We teach entire grade levels in each participating Title 1 Elementary and Middle Schools during school hours. This enables us to develop a relationship with the children and an expectation for respect, responsibility and good behavior. The children asked us to continue the program after school. So, our after school program started in February 2009 at Westridge Middle School and Mollie Ray Elementary School. During the 2009 - 2010 school year, the after school program expanded to include Westridge Middle School, Robinswood Middle, University High school, Hiawassee elementary and West Oaks. The after school program is coordinated through various 21st Century learning communities.
